Linnell is the youngest triplet born to Lord Symeon and Lady Kyrene of House Veirnan. Shortly after her birth, her mother passed away, and she has never known her mother's face. There were no shortages of role models to look up to in that home, though unfortunately, favoritism was everywhere. While their grandmother insisted on taking control of their upbringing in the absence of their mother (though it is arguable that she may have done so anyway, even had Lady Kyrene lived), it still became obvious that Grandmother had a closer bond with Lissandra, for if Lissandra was to be the heir, she would need to be shaped properly from a young age, and Fiona no doubt was pleased when the girl took to idolizing her, and was very willing to be made into her own image.

Lian, of course, was the extreme opposite; while Lissandra is overbearing and domineering; gentle Lian was of course her father's favorite; passive, gentle and subtle, just like him; just entirely different from the way that Grandmother operated. There was something to be learned from speaking softly, from making suggestions, for seeming to be a non-entity and stepped upon when in some cases that simply wasn't the truth at all.

Linnell, while receiving her own share of attention from them, and possessing her own ways of being persusaive when it came to getting things from Daddy, (the large round eyes, begging) and still regardless felt that she was caught up in a contest that she just couldn't win, despite developing a mindset of "anything you can do, I can do better" when it came to showing up her beloved siblings. If Lissandra was attempting to impress grandmother, why, Linnell would only have to do so as well; she was learning skills just nearly as quickly as her sister, after all, even if Lissandra would always insist that she was superior. She could be just as quiet and nurturing as Father and Lian, too; just as tender and loving, solemn and passive.

Unsure of where she stood within her family, Linnell discovered that she could gather attention in a new way; if competing didn't have good results, why, she could just very well pretend to be her sisters around other people. While it wouldn't give her the recognition that she desired, it would at least give some feeling of a connection that she desperately wanted. Initially she did rather poorly at it, and her sisters and guardians thought it all a silly game, and never really understood why she truly did it. For she never wanted them to know how she felt; she would simply find a way to play it off as just being a silly game, when she was caught, though her grandmother of course disapproved regardless, and tried very hard to stamp this behavior out of her, as did Edeyn, when she became aware of it.

And after a while, it seemed that they had; after a time, Linnell began focusing more on her studies, and even expressed an interest in something for her very own that the others had not; and that was in acquiring a pegasus. Unfortunately the timing was rather bad for this, considering the ban; that and her other lessons with learning the lance and even flying itself went rather terribly. She had to beg her father to allow her to even catch one, and he in turn had to twist it out of Edeyn to accompany her, and Linnell had to promise to stay grounded until they decided she was old enough.

She spends the rest of her time trying her best to be not as outspoken and haughty as Lissandra, nor as passive and manipulative as Lian. While struggling to develop her own personality, she found that it was hard to find a middle for herself, however; finding a balance between two extremes like that felt like she was trying to catch two hares. She wanted to be sensitive, but not weak. Stubborn but not obstinate. Able to form her own opinions without fear of not being heard, not being looked down on. She also wanted to enjoy each of her relationships with everyone in the household.

Sometimes it seemed that it was rare that everyone would see the same Linnell as she went through these stages.

It was something that should have been easy for her to do, and yet she found it impossible. The little nagging thoughts, the misinterpreted expectations of her parental figures as well as her sisters, and her incapability to latch onto a single rolemodel, as well as their incapability to latch onto her and have her find a proper mold, made her under her exterior, an extremely fragile and troubled girl, when there was truly no reason in the world why she couldn't be otherwise.

And she wants to escape it.

//personality

Linnel is generally a sweet girl, and always seems to try her best to be eager and helpful. She is also incredibly stubborn when it fits her purposes, which is how she maintained the ability to beg and plead her way into obtaining her very own pegasus. She does have her own qualities that she has never realized were her own; that she is helpful, and reassuring, stubborn, persuasive -- all on her own, and having nothing to do with her sisters. She has never understood it that way. Everything she has built around her are just mirrors, and she attempts to keep her vulnerability to herself.

She seems to get along well with people, unless of course her competitiveness has kicked in, or if she's being particularly stubborn. When she was younger, she was a much more difficult child to deal with, and is prone to her own bouts of moodiness when she is not feeling happy. When she is happy, however, the world knows it; she is bubbly and just wants to have fun, like any other little girl, whether or not her sisters are in the mood for it, though sometimes the three of them can have very sisterly moments of trio-time, in which the world needs watch out. She strives very hard to stand out on her own, to not have her sisters' obvious "flaws", (though has quite a few of her own) and just very much wants to be loved. Unfortunately this desire to be loved has lead her to other ways of seeking attention, instead of truly just being herself.

When Linnell is impersonating her sisters, she can adopt their tones and mannerisms almost seamlessly; there are certain things that she has not yet perfected, one thing being playing the piano as well as Lian, so she never attempts to impersonate her during those times. She's also unable to recite her lessons as perfectly as Lissandra. Not that she doesn't have the same amount of knowledge, but Lissandra often busies herself with information that Linnell doesn't really need to have, considering that she's not the heir. At the same time, there have been some studies that she has had that Lissandra hasn't touched, so she has to be careful in not slipping up. Which in itself can be very frustrating, depending on how important the act is to her at the time.

While she strives to be perfect around the adult figures in her life, her actual interactions with her sisters often vary. When Lissandra attempts to boss her around, for "practice", as she likes to say, depending on what she is being bossy about, Linnell generally will resent it and say her piece if she thinks Lissandra has gone too far; granted Lissandra often gets her way. Of course, if she is practicing to be Lian at the time, she may act differently. She generally tries not to impersonate her sisters when they're all together at the same time, because they aren't aware that she does, indeed, still have that habit. Of course, she does love her sisters terribly, even with her flanking jealousy. She just wants some attention for herself, too.

//appearance

Linnell is a pretty, slim girl with long, lilac colored hair, and pale skin that would burn easily were they to move to a different climate. Her eyes are large and red. Depending on how she wears her hair, she can be easily mistaken for her sisters at any given time, though she does have her own dresses and hair ribbons that make her stand out when she wants. Likewise, most of her outfits do match those of her sisters, if only for the happy-fun triplet/double moments of looking alike.
